Community Services
Community services encompass a variety of services for individuals of all ages. Examples of services include emergency rent and utility bill payment assistance, case management, congregate and home delivered meals for senior citizens, transportation, Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), a children’s summer camp, and an out-of-school youth work experience program.
Fourteen Neighborhood Service Center (NSC) offices serve as the local portal for access to these services, and services may differ from county to county. Funding is provided through the Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) and a variety of other sources such as FEMA, USDA, United Way, WIA, churches, businesses, local government, and competitive grants.
